11th March - Our first cluster sharing day, where we provided feedback after the Learning @ Schools Conference in Rotorua.
Below you can read an outline of the feedback from one of the workshops attended by each attendee.
We also have a summary of the presentations we had throughout the day by various businesses promoting their IT products.

E-Portfollios - Nick Rate
A great workshop. Gave me a better idea of what they were. - an electronic record of learning for students, containing all sorts of things - vodeo clips, work in progress, best of, spcial events etc. The cool thing of this is the portfollio could follow the child throughout their entire educational journey. Feedback / feed forward available for invited persons.
Can see this happening in our school later on, however drawback being the lack of computers/internet access in homes.

Te Reo Maori In English Medium Schools - Patariki Grace, Te Mako Orzecki
A most visited site by teachers is TKI, however it can also be the most under-used. The presentation showed teachers how to access resources for Te Reo Maori in English Medium Schools. Once inside teachers are able to find full, indepth lesson plans and presentations that will hugely enable them to deliver Te Re Maori to classes. These plans contain video clips, to support language. This is well worth exploring and you will be suprised at how awesome these rsources are.

Creating Records of Learning Using Movies Editing software
Using the Windows Movie Maker teachers were shown how to record student's learning in a movie form. The programme is a common and enables student's to compilerecords of learning through movies. This could be used to present work from any curriculum area and stored on a wiki site.
